About INSHPRO

The Institute Of Spanish for Healthcare Professionals (INSHPRO) is the result of my own experience as an English Language Learner, training in the scientific/medical field, work experience as a medical interpreter, and public health work as an evaluator, program manager, researcher, medical Spanish teacher, and community health worker. 

Having extensive work experience with Spanish-speaking LEP individuals, I decided to develop a language-teaching approach that combines adult and language learning concepts and techniques that are culture-specific and practical. The impetus for INSHPRO's existence is to ensure that when language access services are not available, Spanish-speaking LEPs can still receive high-quality and safe services in order to help decrease health-related inequalities.
